Medical Errors-True Stories

www.josieking.org The Josie King Foundation's mission is to prevent others from dying or being harmed by medical errors. By uniting healthcare providers and consumers, and funding innovative safety programs, we hope to create a culture of patient safety, together.

www.pulsecenterforpatientsafety.org PULSE is a nonprofit organisation in the United States working to improve patient safety and reduce the rate of medical errors using real life stories and experiences. Survivors of medical errors are encouraged to use their experience to educate the community and advocate for a safer healthcare system.

PULSE is dedicated to raising awareness about patient safety and reducing medical errors through advocacy, education and support.

www.propublica.org ProPublica is an independent, non-profit newsroom that produces investigative journalism in the public interest.

Quote: "Over the last year, ProPublica has been investigating patient harm, one of the leading causes of death in America, and inviting providers and patients to share their experiences with our reporters. We’ve received hundreds of responses, and continue to report based on those tips as well as insights shared in our growing Facebook community.

Today, we’re expanding our call for stories with the Voices of Patient Harm, a new Tumblr featuring a mosaic of personal stories from people affected by patient safety issues."
